As we gear up to launch our migration on Base, security and user trust remain our top priorities. We’re excited to share that Horizen has successfully completed two independent security audits, conducted by Cantina, covering both our smart contracts and claiming tools users will use to claim and manage their assets.
Crypto needs systems you can verify and use with confidence. Security audits aren’t just for developers. They directly affect you, the user:
Can you safely connect your wallet?
Will your private key stay private?
Can you trust that your claim won’t be intercepted, manipulated, or misrouted?
For anyone moving tokens, generating signatures, or relying on internet-based privacy tools, these audits are what make the difference between a smooth experience and a costly mistake.
Two audits were completed:
This focused on the smart contracts powering Horizen’s migration process: the logic that ensures accurate, verifiable token claims on our new Base chain.

This audit reviewed the set of tools users will be using to transfer their current Horizen assets to the new Horizen chain on Base:
The Claiming Portal (browser-based UI)
Our CLI Tool for advanced users
Ledger and hardware wallet signing flows
The private key signature generator used in the process

Across both audits, every finding has already been addressed, fixed, and verified.
Whether you’re claiming tokens from a browser, signing with a hardware wallet, or using our command-line tools, you can do so with confidence:
A safer experience without surprise key leaks, spoofed inputs, or invisible attacks.
Smoother onboarding with fewer risks, cleaner UX, and better defaults.
Public, verifiable proof that Horizen’s privacy tools are secure.
Building privacy-first systems means anticipating threats and proving we've done the work to mitigate them. These audits are part of our consistent approach: rigorous testing, public accountability, and real user safety.
We’re excited to bring privacy you can trust to Base and to reward users who value that vision. Stay tuned for more updates, testing opportunities, and detailed guides.

Build Smarter dApps with Real-Time Data on Horizen

Welcome to Privacy on Base
A new chapter for onchain privacy begins today. Horizen has officially launched its mainnet on Base, bringing a practical and compliance-friendly path to private onchain activity - one that fits seamlessly into the Ethereum environment millions already use. This launch completes our transition from an isolated proof-of-work chain to a fully EVM-native chain that settles to Ethereum. For everyday users, this shift means faster transactions, lower fees, and access to tools and apps that feel fa...
