We featured RedPill in our July monthly live stream. RedPill is well known in our community and by our team for the wonderful feedback and suggestions he provides. His feedback has helped us greatly improve our ecosystem and applications.
About RedPill
What drew you to blockchain technology?
With a background in financial services originally and more recently as an entrepreneur in the technology sector I was very interested in the potential for blockchain technology to transform the future of money and even more interestingly to solve other commercial problems better through smart contracts, trustless transactions, etc.
Why did you choose Horizen?
There were two major areas. Firstly, I liked the technology implementation using the encryption technologies of Zcash but implementing additional network generated private transactions in every block to ensure real private transactions can’t be censored. This advantage was recently highlighted by the censoring by some major mining pools of Zcash blocks containing private transactions. That can’t happen with Horizen which makes Horizen more fungible by definition and I’d encourage everyone using Horizen to use private transactions wherever possible.
Secondly, I was attracted to the masternode/proof-of-stake approach as a way to earn income while holding funds for the long term. I run a number of masternodes and it’s a great way to both build a secure network but also for coin holders to relatively easily earn a return over time.
Is there anything about yourself you’d like to share with the Horizen Community?
In general, I’d say that I hope that the Horizen development team continues to improve wallet support and performance for full nodes. They are needed for messaging and for private transactions both of which are cool features that I think Horizen should make more of because they both work and are awesome.
