Horizen has joined [**LF Decentralized Trust**](https://www.lfdecentralizedtrust.org/), the Linux Foundation’s flagship organization for the development and deployment of decentralized systems and technologies. The membership connects Horizen with a global network of enterprises, financial institutions, and builders working to advance trust infrastructure.

**What Is LF Decentralized Trust?**
-----------------------------------

LF Decentralized Trust sits at the intersection of open-source and enterprise blockchain. As the organization behind Hyperledger Fabric, Besu, and a growing roster of cryptographic and identity projects, it hosts the technical community responsible for some of the most widely deployed permissioned and permissionless blockchain infrastructure in production today.

Its membership reflects that reach. Organizations like IBM, Accenture, Oracle, Fujitsu, Hitachi, and DTCC participate alongside central banks, fintech firms, and developer-focused companies. The foundation also has a dedicated and actively growing community focused on privacy technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs, an area where Horizen has deep roots.

**Why Horizen Joins LFDT?**
---------------------------

Horizen’s thesis has always been straightforward: **privacy is not a liability to manage, it’s infrastructure to build on.** The hard part has never been the technology; it has been closing the gap between what privacy-preserving systems can do and what enterprises, institutions, and regulators are actually willing to adopt.

That gap closes through trust, earned through standards, community, and a demonstrated track record. LF Decentralized Trust operates exactly in that space. Joining means Horizen is now participating in the conversations that shape how decentralized technology gets evaluated, implemented, and legitimized in enterprise environments.

It also means direct access to the foundation’s ZK proof community, where interest in production-grade zero-knowledge infrastructure is accelerating. Horizen is joining a conversation we’re already equipped to contribute to.

> “Horizen joins Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust with great enthusiasm for the alignment we share with respect to blockchain technology, privacy, and industry partnership. For our ecosystem of onchain finance and business applications, privacy is less of an ideological concern and more a practical one. Building for this future of practical onchain privacy - incorporating technologies such as zero-knowledge cryptography, trusted execution environments, and more - fits perfectly with LF Decentralized Trust’s approach both to principles and their practical application.”

— _Michael Pastko, Ecosystem Growth Lead at Horizen Foundation_

> "Across our community, we are seeing escalating investment and innovation in privacy technologies and standards as they are vital for market adoption of decentralized systems. Horizen's focus on implementing and scaling privacy and verification aligns well with this work. We look forward to their contributions to the collaborative development that makes our privacy projects and labs open and trusted."

_— Daniela Barbosa, Executive Director of LF Decentralized Trust and General Manager of Decentralized Technologies at the Linux Foundation._

**What Horizen Brings to the Table**
------------------------------------

Horizen is an EVM-native privacy environment built on Base, purpose-built for businesses and users that need confidentiality without sacrificing compliance. Powered by [ZEN](https://horizen.io/zen), it provides the tools for verifiable private execution: real privacy that is auditable where it needs to be, and protected where it should be.

Horizen brings a practical perspective to the LF Decentralized community on what it takes to build and deploy a privacy infrastructure that can operate within regulatory constraints, which has been a challenge the broader enterprise blockchain community is increasingly focused on. We intend to participate actively in working groups, technical discussions, and the foundation’s growing ZK community.

**What This Means for the Horizen Ecosystem**
---------------------------------------------

For Horizen, this membership opens up direct exposure to the enterprises and institutions that LF Decentralized Trust serves. That means potential adoption pathways for technology built on Horizen, opportunities for builders in the ecosystem to engage with a broader open-source community, and additional visibility for what Horizen is building.

It also adds weight to the institutional narrative around ZEN. Enterprise adoption of privacy infrastructure moves slowly and deliberately. Membership in a foundation of this standing is part of how that trust gets built over time.

**Looking Ahead**
-----------------

Horizen is joining LF Decentralized Trust to contribute, to learn from an experienced and standards-oriented community, and to help shape how privacy infrastructure gets defined and deployed in the next phase of blockchain adoption.

We’ll share updates as our engagement with the foundation develops. In the meantime, you can explore LF Decentralized Trust and its projects at [lfdecentralizedtrust.org](http://lfdecentralizedtrust.org).
