Horizen Community Star Interviews – Thretto
The Horizen community is full of wonderful people from around the world. Thretto is the original ZENvangelist and one of our most active community members.
Thretto is well known in Discord and Telegram for helping others find information about our project and chatting with us. He also hosts Horizen meetups in his local area to share his love for our project with his community!
We want to give him a huge shout out for everything he has done to help our team and our community. So, we decided to learn a little more about him and why he chose to be part of the Horizen community.
Why did you become a ZENvangelist?
Oh my goodness! There are so many reasons why I became a ZENvangelist!! Horizen has the best leaderships with a super-dedicated and fun global team, an active and helpful community and amazing and talented cryptographers and developers! I am also totally attracted by the bottom-up approach which incentivizes everyone who participates in the ecosystem from the block reward (without pre-mined coins or an ICO)! I believe these are the underlying factors that determine Horizen’s sustainability in the future.
What tips would you give to someone who is new to the Horizen community?
I personally think that ZENewbies should start to learn the project from the ZENvangelists! Haha! Why? Because ZENvangelists started from the grassroots and they possess a great number of experiences interacting with the newcomers on the field. On the other hand, all ZENvangelists should also remember that they are carrying a huge responsibility in providing precise and accurate information to the newcomers. Their credibility will attract these newcomers like a magnet which ultimately will become the new ZENvangelist!
Is there anything about yourself you’d like to share with the Horizen Community?
Well, it all started back in July 2018 when I discovered ZenCash. I realized that ZenCash (later known as Horizen) is one of the very few blockchain projects that demonstrates how a good decentralized project should run. It didn’t take me that long until I decided to launch my very first Secure Node and the excitement with this project started there!
There are some really cool and humble people from the community in Discord who assisted newcomers (including myself) with the nodes regardless of how familiar they are with the Linux environment. I would like to give a huge shout out to these ZENmasters!; Psyrax, PeaStew, Sto1cNate, and Sodiomayor for helping me personally during my initial stage of setting up Horizen nodes! With that being said, after the rebranding from ZenCash to Horizen in Aug 2018, which turned the project from just a “Privacy-focused Cryptocurrency” into a “Blockchains of blockchain Service Provider”, I had decided to become a full-time Horizen supporter, hence a ZENvangelist, ditching most other blockchain projects and only focusing on Horizen on my full capacity while spreading every single ZEN greatness among my local communities and around the world!
Thank you so much for being part of the community, Thretto! We look forward to seeing what you do next!
