Zen Journey, One Year In, Going Strong
A year ago, ZenCash began as a grassroots project focusing on core privacy technology with only five people. Four of them still vividly remember the time when they ran around handing out flyers at Consensus. One year later, the same project came back to Consensus as a mature organization with a beautiful booth, more people, cooler swag, and stronger community support! The level of recognition is encouraging and reminds all of us of how far we have come.
I knew ZenCash had a passionate community, but until I attended Consensus I had no idea how popular ZenCash was among industry participants. Everywhere I went developers from other projects stopped me, shook my hand and told me ZenCash was their favorite project.
For me personally the support for ZenHelp was amazing, from the guy who I helped recently reaching out and giving me a massive bear hug, to the zcash dev shaking my hand and giving me a pat on the back. I’m blown away with the support we have already and the level of recognition both commercially and within the general community.
As always, it was great to meet members of our community: miners, traders, hodlers & node operators. They all shared a really important trait: passion!
Within less than a year, we achieved nearly 80% of our initial white paper, became the 2nd largest, decentralized network, published a second white paper to expand the Zen architecture, and grew our team from 5 to 53!
The Zen team is multi-talented. Rosario Pabst, Director of Ops & Marketing, was also an excellent reporter that day. She successfully delivered a live steam straight from the party! Rob Viglione, Co-founder of ZenCash, highlighted the team’s accomplishments in the past year, and a look forward on what’s next on the team’s roadmap.
Here are a few exciting updates users can expect to see over the next year:
- User-centric technology products will hit the market
- Targeted impact for a larger user base
- A full business that recognizes the importance of other talents such as marketing, development, operations, and public relations that helps us reach our user base
- Super nodes will go live, expanding the decentralization of the Zen network
- Liquid democracy for on-protocol voting
The party was filled with laughter and dance. We were so happy to have Tatiana Moroz, a talented musician, also the founder of Crypto Media Hub, giving a fabulous live performance on stage!
Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and celebrate with us. It was a great pleasure meeting many of our supporters and making new friends at Consensus 2018 and the party.
We are proud of this year’s accomplishments and are looking forward to another year of adventure and a glorious come back in 2019!
We invite you to join us on this exciting journey, shape the future with us, and be part of our story.
