Horizen – A Growing Zero-Knowledge Powerhouse

The last five years have been a whirl for both Horizen and the crypto industry. We started as a privacy coin inheriting a zk-SNARK circuit from Zcash and then we spent the next several years building a unique interoperability protocol, Zendoo, using SNARKs to network blockchains and designing a completely decentralized model for fully provable sidechains. Together with this, in these years we deeply worked on proving systems in order to make recursive proof composition effective.

Now we’re going all-in on building one of the best cryptographic teams in the industry. Our goal is to quintuple our group of cryptographers and cryptographic engineers across two teams: Proving System and Circuits, such that we can support short, mid-term, and long run zk product deliveries and make critical breakthroughs in the current state of the art.

Horizen’s Core Engineering Team is an innovative and collaborative group of researchers and software engineers who are dedicated to the design and development of world-class blockchain-based products. We are working on cutting-edge tech, including zk-SNARKs, proof systems, and zkVMs, to fundamentally change the way of building decentralized and scalable Web3 applications.

We are looking for multiple key roles for our cryptographic team distributed across the globe. Amongst other projects, the team is dedicated to the design of our Layer-2 scaling solution based on STARK-proven virtual machines. 

Our partner, Horizen Labs is investing substantially in this area, sponsoring key academic research, building out a powerhouse internal team, and looking for key acquisitions in the market to quickly augment our capabilities. There are many smaller groups working in key niche areas for which combining forces with us can be a huge opportunity to mature products, distribute them to market, and work with our deep network of partners and clients.

• GPU Engineer
• Rust Performance Engineer

In addition to these crypto-specific roles, Horizen will augment these teams with experienced blockchain engineers, engineering managers, DevOps, and other team roles that can amplify development.
